Foundry Engineering Technician

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate quality issues and manufacturing process concerns and work closely with production and management to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Create, modify, and maintain mold assemblies and technical drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Establish and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing routes within the ERP system.
  • Perform special projects, process analysis, and other technical assignments as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts related to quality, production, and manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize systematic problem-solving methods to identify issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Perform basic statistical analysis to evaluate processes, trends, and quality concerns.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and effectively through both written and verbal communication.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects while maintaining attention to detail, quality, and deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with production, management, and other departments to ensure successful execution and follow-through.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or engineering education preferred.
  • Some engineering experience required. 
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred; foundry experience is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience creating or modifying technical drawings using SolidWorks; AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, execution, and follow-through.
  • Basic computer literacy, including word processing, spreadsheets, file structures, networks, and web navigation.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
