Job Summary: 
The Production Operative is responsible for the production of high-quality products manufactured to the directed drawings / specifications, within the timeframe defined by the Bill of Materials and associated works order. Products are to be made in accordance with the working practices for each task, relevant to the production cell they are employed in at that time. This includes all practices associated with health & safety and quality. The production operative is expected to be able to work in multiple cells within the business and will be cross-trained accordingly.

Responsibilities: 
  • Manufacture products as directed, exactly as per product drawings / specifications & Bill of Materials (BOMs) and in-line with manufacturing procedures.
  • Report any potential issues or deviations from given drawings / specifications, BOMS or procedures to the Operations Manager or assigned production leader prior to commencement.
  • Check all materials & components received for defects prior to processing them.
  • Check the quality and accuracy of tools and machine settings.
  • Ensure that all machines are approved prior to use for safety, including guarding, in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Ensure that the workplace is kept clean and presentable.
  • Report any safety or quality issues to the Operations manager or assigned production leader.
  • Ensure all data required is recorded according to the manufacturing work instruction and procedure.
  • Ensure that all relevant quality checks and signoffs are completed at the correct time as detailed in manufacturing work instruction and procedure.
  • Check the quality and appearance of finished goods prior to passing them to the next process and separate any defective goods for discussion with the Operations Manager or assigned production manager.
  • Identify ways to improve the quality and efficiency of the service you offer and discuss any ideas with your manager.
  • Ensure machine maintenance, 5S and any other relevant programs are adhered to.
Qualifications: 
  • Knowledge and experience in one or more the following areas would be advantageous:
  • Wire & Cable winding, striping, braiding, taping, spooling, assembly
  • Wire cut and strip, tubing cutting
  • Etching, tinning, soldering
  • Mathematical knowledge is advantageous.
  • Assembly/manufacturing experience
  • Experience with lean management tools (e.g., Kaizen, 6S).
  • Flexibility to cross-train in other departments is a must for this role.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
Pay: $17/hr
