Job Summary
The Sandblast Operator is responsible for preparing and cleaning surfaces using abrasive blasting equipment to meet production and quality standards in a factory environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting and abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces
- Select appropriate blasting materials based on job requirements
- Inspect parts before and after blasting to ensure quality standards
- Mask or protect non-blasted areas per specifications
- Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of blasting equipment
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
- Maintain production efficiency while meeting quality expectations
- Report equipment issues or safety concerns to supervision
- Keep work area clean and organized
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous sandblasting or abrasive blasting experience required
- Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and safety procedures
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a dusty, noisy, and industrial environment
- Ability to wear respirators, protective suits, gloves, and eye protection
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
(Regular overtime: 10-hour shifts starting at 5:00 a.m., with occasional Saturday work)
Pay Rate: $17.37 per hour
