Position Summary
The Supervisor/Processor is responsible for overseeing daily injection molding production operations while ensuring product quality, safety, and efficiency. This role combines leadership and technical expertise to monitor and improve molding processes, troubleshoot production issues, and maintain compliance with all quality and operational standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train, motivate, and develop team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and optimize injection molding processes to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
- Establish, control, and improve molding and assembly processes to achieve production targets and customer requirements.
- Assess production floor conditions, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve equipment or process issues.
- Coordinate with material handling staff to ensure all machines are properly supplied.
- Adhere to all quality system requirements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform and document process checks, audits, and visual inspections to maintain product conformance.
- Work with Quality Assurance to address non-conformances and implement effective countermeasures.
- Ensure documentation accuracy for production, scrap, and inventory data.
- Support new mold trials, process validations, and first-piece approvals.
- Supervise and support production team members, ensuring proper training, performance, and adherence to company policies.
- Effectively communicate shift goals, priorities, and quality expectations to team members and incoming shifts.
- Foster a positive, safety-focused culture that emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct daily shift meetings and report performance metrics to management.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices, maintaining compliance with all OSHA and internal safety standards.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the production area per 5S standards.
- Perform daily forklift and equipment checks as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Engineering or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in injection molding, including setup, process development, and troubleshooting.
- 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding principles, scientific molding, and process control.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 standards, SPC, and quality system requirements.
- Proficient with computer systems and production reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
- Occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment.
- Work performed primarily in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and moving parts.
- PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.) required per job tasks.
Schedule: Sunday - Thursday 10PM-8AM
Pay: $25+/hr
