Responsibilities:
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant wide equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of plant wide equipment.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
- Repair and maintain mechanical electrical and instrumentation equipment in the facility as directed by supervisor.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on various equipment.
- Use hand and power tools as required to perform routine equipment maintenance functions.
- Use powered Man lifts (Eg JLG’s) and Scissor lifts to gain safe access to equipment.
- Transport and lift equipment using forklift trucks and other specialist equipment.
- Certify plant instruments following established ISO guidelines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/instrumentation problems, diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
- Follow all safety procedures at all times.
- Install new equipment as required.
- Maintain and upgrade plant facilities as required.
- Desire to train and increase skill levels in other areas from core skill eg. Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation.
- Complete record keeping documentation such as work orders, parts withdrawal, safety permits, etc. including entering information into the computer system.
- Responsible for FSSC/GMP food safety related to designated area.
- Immediately report any accidents or hazardous incidents including any issues with food safety, food raw materials, finished goods or any concerns whatsoever regarding food and drug products as required by the FDA and GFSI standards to management immediately.
- Comply, maintain, train, and enforce contractors to ensure all third parties have been qualified to meet all cGMP, GFSI, ISO, food safety requirements as applicable for the overall sit
- Must have a H.S. Diploma and approved qualifications, such as Appropriate and Relevant associate's degree, City of Chicago Electricians license, Trade School Certificate eg. Coyne American Institute, AND/OR Able to pass third party trade tests as required.
- Must also have 3-5 years of applicable maintenance experience in a manufacturing process plant environment, preferably Chemical or Petro Chemical.
- Experience in pumps, agitators, valves, etc. required.
- Experience in documentation, reports, work orders, etc. required.
- Knowledge in handling routine maintenance on machinery.
Pay: $27-35/hr
