Accounting Specialist

Dayton, OH

Temporary-to-hire opportunity for an Accounting Specialist for a client of ours in the Dayton, OH area.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • General ledger reconciliation, analysis of financial accounts and preparation of journal entries

  • Close and produce monthly financial statements

  • Prepare quarterly reports

  • Coordinate accounting activities, including accruals, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, payroll and time sheet reports, cash management, investments, cash flow analysis, budgets and payroll

  • Prepare standard monthly entries for general ledger and maintain subsidiary ledgers

  • Manage and supervise day-to-day operations of bookkeeping department         

  • Develop and implement policies to streamline accounting procedures

  • Develop and maintain computer-based analyses and reports of accounting records

  • Provide regular reports to management of all accounting activities

  • Establish and monitor adequate internal controls

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • 3+ years accounting experience, preferably in the Financial Services Industry

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel using 

  • Solid interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines
