Temporary-to-hire opportunity for a Lab Technician in the Dayton, OH area!
Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for daily activities in the laboratory with minimum supervision and a complete understanding of the systems involved.
  • Abide by SOPs for laboratory procedure
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify, troubleshoot and resolve any issues to ensure on-time delivery to the customer
  • Perform both planned and emergency troubleshooting repairs
  • Abide by all Health and Safety rules and regulations, as well as strict adherence to SOPs and GMPs
  • Ensure all test and measurement systems are operating within set parameters
  • Keep management apprised of any condition that may impact production schedules
  • Maintain laboratory equipment performance by following quality standards; following operation, quality, and troubleshooting procedures
  • Maintain/Operate compressed gases through compliance with federal and state requirements
  • Assist with the management of spare part inventory
  • Monitor, measure and report on production related issues
  • Participate in the implementation of new programs, analytical methods, instruments and/or work procedures
  • Abide by systems, policies, and procedures in laboratories
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Make recommendations to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
  • High school diploma, or equivalent required; Associates desired.
  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial QA/QC laboratory is mandatory, with experience in FID/GC and ICP units, along with basic wet and physical chemistry procedures.
  • Experience in food/pharmaceutical/nutraceutical processing operations, EPA regulated industry, or combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to successfully perform the job
  • Working knowledge of aseptic techniques, sterilization and safe chemistry and general lab practices
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment general physical. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 25 pounds (occasionally).
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills and work well with others.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must follow strict hygiene standards within the work environment.
  • Must have ability to manage one’s own time.
  • Must be able to follow direct supervision and instructions.
  • Must be able to work independently and carry out tasks without direct guidance as needed.
