Position Summary:
The Shop Custodian maintains a clean, safe, and organized facility by performing routine and deep cleaning, basic maintenance, and supporting daily shop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain shop floors, offices, restrooms, and break areas
- Operate custodial equipment (vacuums, shop vacs, forklifts, ladders, lifts) safely
- Handle and dispose of waste and hazardous materials per guidelines
- Perform minor maintenance (e.g., light bulbs, basic repairs) and report issues
- Respond to urgent cleaning needs and assist with shop setup as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and communicate effectively with team members
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1–3 years of custodial or facility experience preferred (manufacturing a plus)
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety practices
- Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred)
- Forklift experience required (certification or ability to obtain)
- Ability to operate custodial tools, ladders, and lifts
- Scissor lift experience and basic maintenance knowledge preferred
Physical Demands
- Standing/walking: ~90% of shift
- Lifting: Up to 20 lbs. (100 lbs. with assistance)
- Frequent bending, pushing/pulling; occasional climbing
Pay: $16/hr
