Position Summary:
The Shop Custodian maintains a clean, safe, and organized facility by performing routine and deep cleaning, basic maintenance, and supporting daily shop operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain shop floors, offices, restrooms, and break areas
  • Operate custodial equipment (vacuums, shop vacs, forklifts, ladders, lifts) safely
  • Handle and dispose of waste and hazardous materials per guidelines
  • Perform minor maintenance (e.g., light bulbs, basic repairs) and report issues
  • Respond to urgent cleaning needs and assist with shop setup as needed
  • Follow all safety procedures and communicate effectively with team members

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1–3 years of custodial or facility experience preferred (manufacturing a plus)
  • Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety practices
  • Basic math and computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred)
  • Forklift experience required (certification or ability to obtain)
  • Ability to operate custodial tools, ladders, and lifts
  • Scissor lift experience and basic maintenance knowledge preferred

Physical Demands

  • Standing/walking: ~90% of shift
  • Lifting: Up to 20 lbs. (100 lbs. with assistance)
  • Frequent bending, pushing/pulling; occasional climbing
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 4:00 pm (occasional overtime)
Pay: $16/hr
