Key Responsibilities:
Be knowledgeable on all equipment on lines to be able to set up, adjust, repair, operate, and maintain within a proficient time frame
Be knowledgeable and proficient in adjustment and repair of all line support equipment; such as tape machines, strappers, stretch wrappers, jet printers, conveyors, cover up machines, labelers, etc.
Check quality of units being produced and take remedial action to correct any quality problems
Recommend any necessary repairs or improvements to equipment
Work with Machine Shop personnel on major breakdowns and overhaul work
Train operators and apprentices when needed
Complete all necessary QC forms, work orders and reports in an accurate and complete manner
Follow proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with State and Federal laws
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
One year certificate from a college or technical school: or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have completed journeyman training requirement as required by the Company or similar training elsewhere.
Must possess a valid State issued driver’s license.
Must be certified in CPR; basic first aid and fully trained in Lockout Tagout requirements.
Ability to read in English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Schedule: Rotating 12 hour shifts – 2 days on and then 2 days off followed by 3 days on and then 3 days off. On-Call for emergencies.
Example – work Monday/Tuesday, off Wednesday/Thursday, work Friday/Saturday/Sunday, off Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday, work Thursday/Friday, off Saturday/Sunday and so on….
