Logistics Specialist

  • Support the shipping function to achieve on-time delivery objectives.
  • Provide additional capacity to pick, pack and ship customer orders
  • Monitor backlog reports daily and ensure orders ship on-time
  • Assist with performance reporting and other projects
  • Maintain control of service parts and supplies inventory and accurate records
  • Assist with planning for optimum supply levels
  • Post inventory receipts and invoices 
  • Issue inventory to shipping and repair departments 
  • Monitor inventory levels to anticipate and resolve supply shortages
  • Verify delivery receipts and restock storage areas
  • Maintain organization of storage areas
  • Process customer returns
  • Maintain master item list and manage the process for revisions/additions
  • Perform periodic cycle counts and related adjustments as well as physical inventory count to support annual financial audit.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve warehouse and fulfillment operations 
  • Obtain quotes from approved carriers for prepaid shipments
  • Coordinate with customers for collect/third-party shipments
  • Make scheduling decisions to achieve revenue and cost objectives
  • Approve and post prepaid outbound freight invoices
  • Post third-party warehouse storage and LTL invoices
  • Post freight-forwarder invoices for inbound international shipments
  • Post vendor invoices for warehouse supplies
  • Perform recurring adjustments and accruals to support month-end financial close Maintain records and provide documentation to support annual financial audit
  • Lead point of contact for parts and supplies order confirmations, shipment confirmations and other fulfillment inquiries
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting relative to functional areas

  • High School Diploma/GED required (Associates/Bachelor Degree a plus) 
  • Working knowledge of materials management functions such as shipping, receiving, transportation, materials planning, and the complex nature of inventory control
  • Working knowledge of inventory accounting principles such as valuation, costing, turns, obsolescence, and the impact of errors 
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable principles such as the relationship between purchasing, receiving, invoicing and payment, expense categories and coding, and the impact of errors 
  • 5+ years experience working in a warehouse, logistics and/or accounting role 
  • 2+ years experience of direct inventory control responsibility 
  • 2+ years experience working with inventory management systems (ERP a plus) 
  • Strong general computer skills and experience with MS Excel 
  •  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as sometimes required
  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for 8-hour shift depending on priorities and workload mix
